Miami Beach is known for its rich assortment of eclectic neighborhoods and subdivisions, which each offer their own unique character, amenities, and attractions. The following three communities represent the most popular and desirable components of this world class city.
South Beach
Also known as SoBe, it comprises the southern portion of the city of Miami Beach. Known as one of the most vibrant areas in all of South Florida, it hosts a high concentration of the region’s best shops, clubs, condos, restaurants, and other attractions. South Beach is recognized for its towering apartments and hotels, most of which are directly adjacent to the water. Unlike many other coastal resort cities, Mid-Beach is a mostly residential community, consisting of both condos and single-family homes. It includes such venerable neighborhoods as Oceanfront, Bayshore, and Nautilus, each with their own unique amenities and charm. Some of the most iconic and famous high-rises can be found here, including Fontainebleau Hotel, the Eden Roc, the Ocean Spray Hotel and the Blue and Green Diamond. Mid-Beach’s main street is 41st Street, which is lined with a nice collection of commercial venues, schools, clinics, and other necessities and luxuries. Compared to many other streets in the region, it’s both quieter and more pedestrian friendly, which can be said about Mid-Beach as a whole.
South of Fifth
Also known as SOFI, this chic community is located within the equally vibrant area of South Beach, lying south of 5th Street. It’s the epicenter of what draws millions of visitors to the city from around the world, with one of the highest concentration of award-winning restaurants, clubs, lounges, and shops. South of Fifth is recognized the world over for its ample collection of famous condos, which include such award-winning resort-style buildings as Continuum South Beach, W South Beach, Portofino Tower, and much more.
