The Benefits of Different Miami Beach CommunitiesOctober 21, 2013
Miami Beach is known for its rich assortment of eclectic neighborhoods and subdivisions, which each offer their own unique character, amenities, and attractions. The following three communities represent the most popular and desirable components of this world class city.
Also known as SoBe, it comprises the southern portion of the city of Miami Beach. Known as one of the most vibrant areas in all of South Florida, it hosts a high concentration of the region’s best shops, clubs, condos, restaurants, and other attractions. South Beach is recognized for its towering apartments and hotels, most of which are directly adjacent to the water. Some of the most acclaimed names in luxury real estate are located here, including the Murano Grande, Yacht Club at Portofino, the Continuum South Beach, the W South Beach, and many more. Ocean Drive is the main road of South Beach, and perhaps its most iconic feature, hosting many of the most well-known establishments in the city. Thanks to its pedestrian-friendly environment and dense urban environment, getting around is easy, especially with the region’s famously warm and sunny climate.
Though not the best known community, Mid Beach is nonetheless an excellent choice. This serene and tranquil neighborhood is located at the center of Miami Beach, north of 23rd Street and Indian Creek, and south of Surprise Lake and 63rd Street. Unlike many other coastal resort cities, Mid-Beach is a mostly residential community, consisting of both condos and single-family homes. It includes such venerable neighborhoods as Oceanfront, Bayshore, and Nautilus, each with their own unique amenities and charm. Some of the most iconic and famous high-rises can be found here, including Fontainebleau Hotel, the Eden Roc, the Ocean Spray Hotel and the Blue and Green Diamond. Mid-Beach’s main street is 41st Street, which is lined with a nice collection of commercial venues, schools, clinics, and other necessities and luxuries. Compared to many other streets in the region, it’s both quieter and more pedestrian friendly, which can be said about Mid-Beach as a whole.
South of Fifth
Also known as SOFI, this chic community is located within the equally vibrant area of South Beach, lying south of 5th Street. It’s the epicenter of what draws millions of visitors to the city from around the world, with one of the highest concentration of award-winning restaurants, clubs, lounges, and shops.
