Art Basel Miami, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year since launching in Miami, opens December 1st through 3rd, with invite-only preview days on November 29th and 30th. Still, the festivities start well in advance with the opening of satellite fairs and a flurry of events as more galleries, luxury brands and nonprofits make the most of our lively city.

A sign that the art world is booming, the 20th annual Art Basel Miami Beach presents over 280 galleries for its largest fair to date. Half hail from the Americas, while 26 are making their debut, including Bridget Donahue (NY), Rolf Art (Buenos Aires) and Stars (LA). Formerly with Sotheby’s, Noah Horowitz succeeds Marc Spiegler as CEO.

The New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA), the definitive non-profit organization dedicated to the cultivation, support, and advancement of new voices in contemporary art, is pleased to present the 20th edition of NADA Miami, which will be held at Ice Palace Studios from November 30 – December 3, 2022.
This year marks both the 20th edition of NADA Miami—which held its inaugural edition in 2003 with just 35 exhibitors—as well as the 20th anniversary of the New Art Dealers Alliance, which was founded in 2002.
NADA Miami 2022 will showcase a diverse selection of 146 galleries, art spaces, and nonprofit organizations spanning over 40 cities around the globe including Paris, Tokyo, Dubai, Toronto, Buenos Aires, and Copenhagen. This year’s fair includes over 80 NADA members and 37 first-time exhibitors. The fair will also feature NADA Presents, the organization’s signature programming series of conversations, performances, and events, as well as a Curated Spotlight, a special section highlighting a selection of galleries organized by a renowned curator and presented in partnership with TD Bank.

Saatchi Yates
Saatchi Yates opens a temporary gallery space in Miami, with a solo exhibition of new work by Ethiopian Contemporary artist Tesfaye Urgessa to coincide with his presentation at the Rubell Museum, Miami opening December 2022. Saatchi Yates Miami is situated in the Design District, next to the Institute of Contemporary Art and the de la Cruz Collection. Tesfaye Urgessa was born in 1983 and lives and works in Germany, having emigrated from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Urgessa studied under master Tadesse Mesfin in Ethiopia, and later graduated from the Staatlichen Akademie in Stuttgart. Through these experiences, Ugressa was able to connect Ethiopian iconography and a deep fascination with traditional figurative painting to create a unique and striking language. Urgessa’s subject matter recalls intertwined representations of race and the politics of identity.
